How do I receive my lessons?
Your lessons will be laid out on a student’s only web page which you will receive a password to enter with. You can enter and download your lessons all at once or as you work through them.

What order should I do my lessons in?
It is recommended that you work in the order that the lessons are written as each lesson will build on the information in the lesson before and the assignments are written to ensure you are also building on your knowledge.

How many lessons are in each course?
To find out how many lessons are in the course you are interested in click on the course description tab and an outline will be shown.

Do I have to send you the answers to the questions within each lesson?
No each lesson has a series of self assessing questions which are designed to have you think about what is discussed within the lesson and how it applies to you personally.

How should I set up my work notes?
There a number of ways you can save the information from this course.

You may elect to save it electronically and keep all of your notes in a file on your computer.

A notebook is another method to tracking your progress. Each lesson will be either asking you to write notes or to find images that support the concepts and ideas that you’ll be learning. You can use the notebook to keep all of your findings together.

A final solution is to print out the lessons onto single sided sheets of paper. Utilise the facing page to place any notes and examples you find as you work through each new lesson. Keep these notes together in a binder for safety and future referral.

How long do I have to complete the course?
We recommend you complete the course within six months. If you take much longer then the learning will become diluted and you will not progress as confidently. You’ll have six months from enrolment to complete this course. Assignments received after the six month anniversary from enrolling will not be graded unless you apply for an extension. Extensions can be granted upon request.

While you may read the lessons in any order the course has been specifically designed so that each lesson will build up on the information from the previous lessons. I would recommend you have a look at the course content and lesson outlines that accompany these notes to see when the assignments will be coming up with in the course.

Are you an accredited Academy?
The International Style Academy has all of its courses recognised by the AICI – Association of Image Consultants International and has its courses accredited by the internationally recognised IACET (International Association for Continuing Education and Training)

How do I receive my CEU’s (continuing education units)?
To receive the continuing education units you will have to fill out an additional form which you will receive when you finish the course. This form has to be filled in and returned to the international Style academy where we will submit it for you. If you are a member of the AICI your CEU credits will automatically be registered against your member name. If you are not an AICI member or you wish to receive a copy of your certificate you will be required to pay an additional $50.00 to cover registration and postage.

Do I have to become a member of the AICI?
No you do not. Membership with the Association of Image Consultants International is strictly up to you. It is recommended however if you are serious about growing your business. This association has chapters all over the world and is the fastest growing association for image consultants in the world. Membership will open the door to you for many other channels of information and education. It is a marvellous place to network with like minded individuals. How do I send my assignments?
Every time you send an assignment ensure you have your name, email address and student number on every sheet that you forward.

Assignments can begin emailed or posted to your trainer for correction. If you elect to e-mail your assignments you may need the help of an online file hosting server if the assignments become too large to send. There are numerous free file hosting suppliers on the Internet.

Always keep a copy of any assignment in case there is a problem with the Internet or regular mail. We take no responsibility for assignments which do not reach us due to mail or Internet problems.

If you wish to have your assignments returned to you please enclose a stamped self addressed envelope with your assignments when you post it.

Do I get support? What are the support training Phone Calls?
As part of your course you will have the opportunity for a 30 minutes phone call with your trainer after your tenth lesson. There is another phone call that will be made after your 21st lesson and before you commence your final assignment.

You’ll need to make an appointment and schedule a time for these calls. Your appointment for your call should be made at least three days in advance to allow us the best opportunity to make the call at a time which suits everyone.

Calls can be made via skype to Clare who will then have the ability to use video conferencing so that you can see anything which you may be discussing. you to be able to see her as she makes comments and gives directions as she answers your questions. Am I too old?
The beauty of this industry is that to some degree age is irrelevant; depending upon which area you wish to focus on. Students have been as young as 21 at one end of the scale and others have reached retirement. To be successful in this industry you have to believe in yourself and be prepared to promote and market yourself.

Do you guarantee me work?
Unfortunately we cannot guarantee you work. Unless you already have an outlet to use your new talents it can take a number of years to build up a full time income. Your success will depend solely upon yourself. We can give you the knowledge but it is up to you to use those skills to market yourself. Once you have graduated we will support you if you have any further questions.

How are my assignments marked?
Your assignments will be either marked a pass or fail. If you fail an assignment you’ll be asked to complete the assignment again. Comments will be made to help you understand what you may have missed and add some clarity or understanding of a point.
It is recommended that you do not start on your next lesson until you have successfully completed each assignment.

Can I ask questions?
As with all of our courses we are constantly upgrading and re-evaluating the information within to make sure we present the best possible information for you to learn from. While there are only two phone calls included in your course instruction there’s no limit to the e-mail contact you can have with your instructor during your instruction. Should you be confused by anything and require further information please do not hesitate to e-mail us.

What’s next?
You may select to sit the Confident Consulting in Personal Style for Men course. Once you have completed this course you will have all of the information to go out and start consulting in style straightaway. If you wish to continue your studies and attend a Confident Consulting in Colour course please contact us and we will let you know when the next course is going to be available to you.

What if the course is not for me?
If you are concerned then start with the two complimentary lessons. Once you have enrolled and received your student number and log-in you will have full access to the course and all of the intellectual property within it. It is for this reason that once you have enrolled refunds are not given.

Do I have to pay to do the first two lessons?
No you can start them straight away without paying any fees to see if you are interested in the information contained within them.

Will you be offering colour consulting as an online course?
At this stage we cannot see how you can effectively learn how to drape a client and recognise their personal colouring through this medium. We are working on developing a part online part classroom tutorial that will shorten the length of time you have to spend in the classroom. This is still a work in progress and until we are convinced that what you will learn online is equivalent to an in classroom education it will not be offered.

Do I have to learn online? Do you have a classroom alternative?
